INSPIRE4ALL project partners Polisportiva San Precario will organise their Action Days in the local communities in Italy next week, with the aim of bringing together refugees and locals.
The events will take place as part of the SanPrecario Sport Festival between 16-19th May, during which local people, refugees, local partners and coaches will come together. The Action Days themselves are on 18th and 19th May.
In Padova a variety of sports will take place during the Action Days including football, touch rugby and volleyball.
A workshop on African culture and heritage will be held, as well as a debate on sports and racism which will include local sports lawyers, councillors, anti-racism campaigners and other participants. A ska reggae party will also be held to close the event.
The Action Days are part of the INSPIRE4ALL - “Integration through Sport and Inclusion of Refugees for All” project funded by the Erasmus+ Sports programme “Sport as a tool for integration and social inclusion of refugees.”
Together with Champions ohne Grenzen in Germany and the Fare network, Polisportiva San Precario aims to identify the barriers facing refugees and asylum seekers on a daily basis in Padova and promote their inclusion through sports. In addition, the project focuses on developing the skills of the coaches in their work with multicultural teams.
Project partners including representatives from the Fare network will attend the Action Days. See Polisportiva San Precario's Facebook pagefor further information.
